Public procurement law

When the government decides to purchase certain services, or to order a building, this must always be done by means of a procedure laid down in the Aanbestedingswet [Public Procurement Law]. This law stipulates that the government must award contracts in a fair and transparent manner. In order to arrive at a legally-valid contract, and to prevent claims for damages, it is important that public procurement law is applied correctly.
